Knut W. Ruyter, born 1955 in Norway, professor, dr. philos., University of Oslo. Served as Director for the Regional Committees for Medical and Health Care Research Ethics from 2009-2019, newly appointed Ombudsman for Research for the University of Oslo.

Has taught research ethics, developed courses (also e-learning in English), published textbooks and articles, with a keen eye to historical examples for deterrence and learning.
