Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, Poland


A historian (studied at the Department of History and Philosophy of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow). From 1977 to March 2018, she worked as the senior curator in the Research Centre at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum (until 2014 called the Department of History and Research).

The author of numerous works published in Poland and abroad concerning, among others, the lives of children and adolescents in KL Auschwitz; experiments of SS doctor Josef Mengele; the plight of the people of Warsaw dispatched to Auschwitz after the outbreak of the uprising in August 1944; the extermination of Poles displaced from the Zamość district in 1942-1943, and the issue of some of the subcamps in Auschwitz.
